Storytelling Workshop November 18, 2006 8.30 a.m. - 12 noon Marikina Public Library Registration fee - Php 500.00 The workshop will focus on different storytelling techniques like the use of props, paper, strings, illustrations, cut-outs and paper tearing, puppets and interactive styles. Theatrics and dramatic exercises will be explored as preparation to storytelling. Planning for a storytelling session and choosing stories to tell that are age appropriate are also included in the workshop. Writing for Kids Workshop December 4, 2006 8.30 a.m. - 12 noon Marikina Public Library Registration fee - Php 500.00 Learn the basics of writing fiction for children through exercises, modeling techniques and an immersion in stories written for kids by known and respected Pinoy Kid's Lit writers today. Participants are expected to write a simple story in draft form. Tips to nurture the writing habit and nourish the imagination are included. *Adarna Books will be on sale Facilitator - Zarah Gagatiga, teacher, librarian, storyteller, writer and reading advocate will conduct the workshops. She has been to Singapore and Thailand for storytelling workshops and conferences. She is currently the President of KUTING, the premiere association of Filipino writers in the Philippines today.
